INTRODUCTION

Gary was the second oldest of seven children, born and raised Catholic in his hometown of Coldwater, Ohio. Coldwater had a Catholic population of around 90 percent.
At age seven, Gary was born again as he trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of his sins. Gary is an enlisted Navy veteran who served aboard the aircraft carrier IKE, CVN-69 USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, which was commissioned on October 18, 1977. He joined the Navy at age nineteen, and after wandering from God the Father, Gary, the prodigal son, returned home at age twenty-three for forgiveness, which was in January1980.

Gary’s BA degree is in Biblical Studies with minors in Pastoral Ministries and Christian Education. He graduated in 1992 from Summit Christian College, Ft. Wayne,
Indiana, which then merged with Taylor University, also located in Indiana.
More recently, Gary is the founder of The Keys of Heaven Ministries.

For the purpose of this book, presenting the truths of God’s Word and the teachings of the Catholic Church is Gary’s desire, the goal being that a deeper understanding and a greater familiarity with the topics and views from both sides will develop. The book’s intent is to honestly present the information without error, which Gary believes has been accomplished. Gary’s hope is that you will fi nd the book a compelling read that may lead
you to decisions for eternal truth, eternal life, and everlasting reward.

Gary’s greatest joy is to let God speak for Himself and to present the Catholic teachings in the same way. However, comments, explanations, and some apologetics are at times necessary and helpful.
